Documentary FAQ

Questions about docs.

How much does a documentary cost?

Short documentaries (10–15 minutes) typically start at ₹5 lakh. Feature-length films (40–90 minutes) range from ₹15 lakh to ₹50 lakh and above, depending on shoot duration, locations, crew size and post-production. Every project gets a custom quote after the discovery call.

How long does a documentary take to produce?

Eight to sixteen weeks is the usual window from kickoff to delivery. Long observational documentaries that need several field rotations can take six to nine months.

Do you handle festival submissions?

Yes. We prepare festival-spec DCP or ProRes masters, build the press kit, write submission synopses and advise on the festival calendar, from MIFF, IFFK, IDFA and Hot Docs to regional circuits.

Can you work with our existing research or script?

Yes. We can join at any stage. If you have a treatment, a rough script or raw archive material, we take it from there. We also run full research-to-delivery if you are starting from scratch.

Who owns the final film?

You do. Full IP and distribution rights transfer on final payment, as defined in the scope of work. We keep the right to use excerpts in our portfolio and showreel unless the NDA says otherwise.

Do you shoot outside India?

Yes, pan-India and international, with trusted field partners abroad. Travel and stay are not part of the production quote: they are either reimbursed at actuals or arranged by the client directly.
